Seven Falls Hike, A Night in a Covered Wagon, Shootout in Tombstone Arizona - A Weekend to Remember!

A hike to Seven Falls through Bear Canyon outside of Tucson, Arizona. We spotted a SpaceX launch on our hike out. Then a night stay in an old sheep herder’s covered wagon to explore the legendary old western town of Tombstone. There we watched a reenactment of the famous OK Coral shootout featuring Doc Holiday and Wyatt Earp. I’m a fan of old westerns. This full length video can be seen on our ...

Overlanding the Michigan Manistee Forest
Great video. We just got back from up that way.
Wow , I’m looking for wireless charger for my mum’s mobility scooter, she’s doing part time delivery so she use the phone holder for orders. Only thing was the only output was usb so I can’t buy for e-bike or motorcycle ones as their the Hotwire ones and ours is not recommended to open the Li-ion /lithium battery.
Any chance you would know why a fridge doesn't get cold at all, despite the condenser working, the fans working, the coils are clean, and the pipes coming out of the compressor are nice and cold. My temp readings are right on the display, but the cooling never reaches the internal compartments.
Ooo that’s a tough one. I’m not certain. I would reach out to the fridge manufacturer; they would probably do a better job at helping diagnose the problem.
@@NarrowRoadAdventures unfortunately/fortunately they didn't bother troubleshooting it, we did a few basic steps, then it was it needs to be replaced. They didn't make that model anymore, so I had to settle for a much smaller unit. I was trying to see if I could fix this one and come out ahead.
Thoughts on bed treads vs Armorlite?
I like the bed treads. Much better than carpet for my needs. The downside is they don’t have floor drains built in so to clean you either have to remove them (like carpet) or shop vac them and scrub while in the jeep. I have just done the latter. I think Armorlite is double the price that I wasn’t willing to spend.
Awesome! Just ordered one
'promo sm' 🙂
@ 2:00 that was certainly not the manwich I was hoping for, but looks tasty nonetheless 😂
Where did y’all camp at the 2:57 mark? Looks like the East Bank?
Does it matter if you get XL stems even if your wheels would be alright with the regular stems?
I can’t think of a reason why to get XL stems unless your wheel is really thick. They do a pretty good job explaining on their website why you might want them. Having them stick out further than necessary could make it easier for them to catch on something and break.
This is awesome. I was looking to get one for my 98 grand Cherokee and this is the first video to pop up on UA-cam. Thank you.
Glad it was helpful. Enjoy your awning!
you're a very professional guy, I hope your adventure with our trailer would be great. ^_^
Thank you, Frank. I look forward to family adventures this summer in the trailer.
Sure my friend Taylor, you will do have a wonderful trip with it. ^_^@@NarrowRoadAdventures
I use the same pump works great!
😂😂😂 small and easy to handie
😂 It was the random “barbecue” that really sold me. 😋
This is adorable!!!! ❤
😂
Oh my word that’s just grate!!! Wow those look like good quality. How will you mount those on your vehicle?
That’s so cool. I am going to have to try this! I love your videos.
What place did you travel to in the beginning?
Amazon universal wireless remote under $20 and you’re good. Done it on a warn winch
Yes! We ended up buying one, just never got around to hooking it up.
Amazon Link 🔗 amzn.to/48p4Dea You can find link in video description or NarrowRoadAdventures.com in the gear section.
Was that briar hill you guys tried for the highest spot in Michigan LP?
Just looked it up. Yes, it was. We weren’t really trying to reach it, she just happened to look it up and we realized the (minor) significance of where we were.
@@NarrowRoadAdventures thought so. A little south of that spot I know a trail that you can climb up almost as high as Briarhill.
Cool! I may have found it on the map.
@@NarrowRoadAdventures it’s a fun trail going up and coming down lol
@@NarrowRoadAdventures Views from the top and the down hill portion are in the start of this video. As usual the video doesn’t do the hill justice. ua-cam.com/video/qBEz52gvm7A/v-deo.htmlsi=CDe2-t2bOTpUjwiW
Looked like a fun trip!
lol @6:06 😂
Professional speed walker …or something. 😂
What Maxtrax charges is obscene. My Xbulls have done their job and if I have to replace them more often I'm still way ahead.
💘 Promo-SM
Where are your seat covers from ? 🙏🏼
They are Katzkin leather material replacement.
Where we wheel in Canada that big clunky valve would last about 5 feet on the trail before it got damaged …. I like the idea and ease for me seems like a failure point
It depends on the wheels. These are well protected by the ring of my beadlock wheels. The values are 1.6” long from mounting surface. Wheels that have the valve mounting close to the rim edge, I agree with you, and would only run rubber valves.
I always say, “If it works for ya, and you’ll be happy! You good!”😅
I am looking to do my first offroad camp trip - so I am looking for a novice trail in the Manistee Nat'l forest. It looks like yours may have been more challenging for a noob. Can you make a suggestion?
Everything we drove were just seasonal roads. We can’t say take this road because many are short and turn into other roads. When we plan our routes we use some map layers on Gaia GPS phone app that show the paved roads vs the non-paved and to plot out our routes. We also look at Google Maps satellite view as a side reference. It takes a few hours to plan out a weekend route but it is fun to explore the areas and route you plan out; it’s part of the adventure. In Gaia you can also use the “public land” map layer to see where would be legal to camp within the forests. Hope that helps. For a Gaia GPS discount, check out our website: NarrowRoadAdventures.com
Wow! So happy I saw this video. I was on that trail with my Tacoma in late September and opted for the bypass on that hill. So crazy to see someone send it. Badass!
I’ve been going through that trail for years and it keeps getting more nasty, always changing. Thanks for watching!
hello, I have the same fridge. I need a thermistor for this fridge. My still works, but the display always show an internal temperature of 104f on the display. Do you know where I can find one?
Unfortunately, we have not been able to find them recently as we think ours might be starting to have an issue again.
Thanks for the video, I had exactly this idea and thought to myself if it works, someone has already done it. There are already ram mounts with induction integrated but they are very expensive and if you already have the X-Grip it is a good solution.
Glad you found it helpful. Yes we saw those Ram chargers and thought they were way too much, this has been a good budget solution. Thanks for watching!
can the quick grip mount also be modified into a wireless charger?
Cool $80 of parts + $1000 of shop gear. Nice.
Takes tools to make anything. Go visit Harbor Freight.
Awesome but does it charge through your case??
It depends on the charger used. This one charges fine through my thin otterbox case so long as my phone is centered to the charger.
Nice video! Dumb question...maybe but I visit the manistee as much as I can (3hr drive) and love to camp out of my 4runner. Im used to cherokee/Nantahala/daniel boone NFs from when I lived down in TN. But how do I find these places yall are at!? I feel I always find a very short run to then turn around. I know sxs/atvs have lots of trails but im struggling to find trails to explore/ disperse camp. Thanks for your time and video. Appreciate it
We enjoy exploring the Daniel Boone! Beautiful down there. Michigan has ORV Routes (“routes” fit road vehicle). Or if you prefer to explore less run areas, as we do, it’s finding seasonal roads to explore. We use Gaia GPS app for planning our routes. (Go to our website for a discount.) Using the “public land” map overlay it also shows where private land boarders are and so if we see a seasonal road goes into a non-public land area then we can usually count on it being a dead-end and route a different way. Takes a bit of planning rather than just jumping on a pre-organized Daniel Boone Backcounty Byway and going but it also aids in the reward of the exploration. Hope this helps!
@@NarrowRoadAdventures Thanks alot for the feedback! Much appreciated. Is Gaia better than Onx..? I've never used either. Just curious. Also if going ORV routes are vehicles (overlanders) frowned upon by the sxs/atv crowd? Wouldn't want to step on the locals norms haha. Thanks again!
I would say the programs are similar. I have not used Onx. Gaia has always worked great for me and I trust it. It’s also my primary (yet not only) means of navigation for backpacking in the backcountry. SUVs have just as much right to the Routes as anyone else. No one should be upset. Only time anyone has been upset with me was snowmobiles when I was on a shared route with them. I avoid those in the winter now. If you see someone come up behind you fast, be polite and get over and wave them around so they can pass.
How well are the gen 3 using as a bridge ? Do they bend well without snapping ? Thx
We haven’t had one snap. They bend but depends on what you plan to bridge and how far you plan to take them. They work well in a pinch and for the average Explorer. With our aggressively built rig and the degree we tend to get stuck, we have recently stepped up to USA Action Trax and compare that you get what you pay for. Depends on someone’s budget and needs.
Thank you for this video. Seems like the gen 3 will be a good fit for me.
Any updates or anyone else have any info on how this winch performs?
I used traction broads to save a 26ft uhaul it stuck in the mud I didn't have to call a wrecker.
That paid for themselves! 👍
Looks awesome what area of the forest were you camping at? Pine River, Manistee River? Thanks for the vid🇺🇸
Glad you enjoyed it. I think we were near Pine River part of the time if I remember right.
Algorithm comment
I just bought this. Any updates on how it’s working for you?
Mounted it up and works! I still need to unspool the line and spool it with tension. Then…need to try to get stuck. Sorry I don’t have more of an answer, it’s only been mounted for a week.
any updates from you?
I am getting rid of this winch and putting my Smittybuilt on this Wrangler. Sorry, I will not be having a long-term review of this winch.
@@NarrowRoadAdventures because it's not working out?
I am getting rid of my Grand Cherokee which had a Smittybuilt X2O. The Smitty is better quality so I want to keep that one and put it on the Wrangler. I will then not have a need for a second winch so the Walmart winch is going to go. It probably would have been just fine but I don’t have any experience with the Walmart winch. I know the Smitty is reliable so I’m going to stick with what I know and has proven itself.
Did you guys get the gps file up for it yet
Not yet. Planning to roll it out in the spring along with a follower group ride weekend. There are also a couple routes that DNR have recently closed so we need to make some edits.
1st thing you need is a front winch and a come along as a back up
We always carry two recovery methods, a shovel and traction mats as a minimum and a recovery strap for recovering others. If you’re smart and don’t take unnecessary risks, a shovel and traction mats can get you out of most things. We do have a winch on our main adventure vehicle which was having an issue at the time (reason I took this Jeep).
Use your Jeep to pull those tree trunks out! 20ft 3/8" chain and shackle. Put that Jeep to work! Lol
20 bucks huh, no ram product is ever that cheap.
Lol “$20 DIY Wireless Charger …FOR Ram mount” as the title describes, $20 is for the charger addition, not the mount. The chargers have actually gotten cheaper so now it only costs about $12.
ZJ still in the shop?
Sadly yes. Hope to have time this winter to finish it up. My friend wanted to get his Taco out so I gladly let him pull my trailer if I could come. Was itching to get out. 😁
@@NarrowRoadAdventures Can't wait to see it done! And yeah I dont blame you lol.
Seen this set up, and built it for my car, and it works great, no more wires hanging about...
Anyone know of a good price for the brackets to attach the awning to the rack?
The brackets I used came with the awning.
